Mechanical Engineer – 3 to 8 years of experience, Job description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop sheet-metal components and assemblies (enclosures, racks, brackets, panels) for BESS products.
  • Prepare and review 2D drawings and 3D models with proper GD&T.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Perform dimensional inspection using precision instruments such as:
  • Vernier callipers, micrometres, height gauges
  • Bore gauges, dial indicators, thread gauges
  • Surface roughness testers (where applicable)
  • Interpret and apply tolerances, fits, and measurement standards.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Assist in preparation and review of inspection reports, checklists, and quality documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, vendors, and suppliers for fabrication and quality issues.
  • Support vendor audits, first article inspections (FAI), and part approvals.
  • Provide technical clarification to vendors on drawings and specifications.
  • Support mechanical integration of battery modules, racks, cabinets, cooling components, and auxiliary systems.
  • Ensure mechanical designs meet safety, structural, and environmental requirements relevant to BESS applications.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet-metal design and fabrication processes.
  • Hands-on experience with measurement instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Good understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and fits.
  • Experience in quality inspection and documentation.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or NX).
