Zams is an AI command center for B2B sales teams. It connects to the tools you already use—Salesforce, Hubspot, Slack, Apollo, Gong and more—and turns them into one seamless system. Instead of clicking through tools, you just say what you want in English and Zams does it.

We’re a small, scrappy team backed by some of the top venture capital firms in the US, moving fast with a strong bias for action and attention to detail. Joining Zams now means stepping onto the ground floor of a company with a massive mission and momentum. You’ll have the chance to make an outsized impact, see your ideas go from concept to reality in weeks, and play a direct role in shaping how companies everywhere adopt AI. It’s the perfect environment for someone who thrives in fast-paced startups, wants to learn quickly, and is ready to grow alongside a team that’s defining the future of sales.

About You

As a Software Engineering Intern at Zams, you’ll play a hands-on role in building and testing the systems that power our platform. You’ll work on backend services, data flows, and integrations that directly impact how our customers automate work. Alongside coding, you’ll gain real-world experience in designing reliable systems, writing automated tests, and learning the trade-offs that come with scaling early-stage products.

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, resourceful, and eager to learn quickly. You should enjoy solving technical problems, writing clean code, and experimenting with new tools. If you’re excited to work closely with the founding team, ship features fast, and grow as an engineer, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations with external tools (e.g., HubSpot, Slack, Apollo).
  • Contribute to database modeling, query optimization, and data pipelines.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across services and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers and product team to deliver full-stack features.
  • Deploy and monitor applications in cloud environments (e.g., Vercel, AWS).
  • Explore and use AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Cursor, coding copilots) to accelerate workflows.
  • Continuously learn and apply new backend frameworks, patterns, and best practices.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of backend programming fundamentals (APIs, data structures, algorithms, concurrency).
  • Experience with LLMs
  • Experience with at least one backend language/framework (e.g., Python/Django, Node.js/Express)
  • Interest in testing frameworks and best practices for ensuring reliability.
  • Excited to work in a fast-moving startup environment with autonomy and ownership.
  • Can work 40 hours a week
  • A fast-moving, supportive startup culture that values experimentation and creativity.
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI systems, tools, and frameworks.
  • Learn and grow rapidly alongside a talented and collaborative team.
  • Work at the intersection of backend engineering, AI, and creative testing.
