Goose is building the operating system for multi-service pet care businesses—boarding, daycare, grooming, and training. Our platform streamlines operations, enhances the customer experience, and drives revenue growth. This year, we raised a $13.4M seed round from B Capital, First Round Capital, The 81 Collection, Imaginary Ventures, and BoxGroup. We're growing quickly and looking for our lead Product Designer to help shape Goose’s design foundation and scale with us.
What You'll Do
- Lead design end-to-end across UX, UI, and research—taking ideas from concept through delivery.
- Collaborate daily with product managers, engineers, and client-facing teams to translate business and user needs into thoughtful product experiences.
- Conduct lightweight user research and synthesize feedback into actionable insights that guide design decisions.
- Create and own Goose’s design system, ensuring it scales across multiple products and services.
- Balance usability with business goals in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Lay the groundwork for Goose’s design culture and practices as the lead designer on the team.
What We're Looking For
- ~4–6 years of experience in product design, ideally in-house on SaaS or B2B products rather than primarily agency work.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX, UI, and product thinking, with examples of cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience designing for enterprise or B2B workflows; vertical SaaS, fintech, HRTech, healthcare tech, or operating systems experience is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a startup environment where priorities shift quickly and collaboration across teams is essential.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical teammates.
- Based in Chicago, with the ability to work from our office 2-3 days per week.
