Inviting applications for the role of Data Protection & Privacy Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Data Privacy Officer to join our team. The Data Privacy Officer
will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the organization’s compliance with data protection laws and
regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring data privacy policies and procedures, as
well as managing data privacy risks to protect the organization and its stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
● Data Privacy Compliance:
○ Develop, implement, and maintain data privacy policies, procedures, and practices to ensure
compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
○ Monitor and assess the organization's data processing activities to ensure compliance with data
privacy requirements.
○ Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy inquiries and concerns.
● Risk Management:
○ Conduct regular data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments to identify and
mitigate potential privacy risks.
○ Develop and implement strategies to address identified privacy risks and compliance gaps.
● Training & Awareness:
○ Design and deliver training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees about data
privacy and security best practices.
○ Keep up-to-date with changes in data privacy laws and regulations and communicate relevant
updates to the organization.
Security Roles and Responsibilities
● Incident Management:
○ Oversee and manage data privacy incidents, including breaches and data subject
access requests (DSARs).
○ Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to investigate, respond to, and report on privacy incidents
in a timely manner.
● Documentation & Reporting:
○ Maintain accurate records of data processing activities, privacy assessments, and compliance
documentation.
○ Prepare and present regular reports on data privacy activities, compliance status, and incidents to
senior management.
● Collaboration & Advisory:
○ Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to integrate data privacy considerations into
business processes and projects.
○ Provide expert advice and guidance on data privacy matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, Data Privacy, or a related field. Advanced
degree or certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM) is highly preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, or a related field, with at least
2 years in a managerial or advisory role.
● Skills:
○ In-depth knowledge of data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
○ Strong understanding of data privacy principles, risk management, and data protection
technologies.
○ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
○ Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex privacy concepts to
diverse audiences.
○ Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
○ Knowledge on UAE laws is preferred
