Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the overall business goals and objectives.
    • Identify target markets and segments to focus sales efforts effectively.
  • Team Leadership and Management
    • Recruit, train, coach and lead a high-performing sales team.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide guidance, and mentor team members for professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the sales team.
  • Revenue Growth
    • Drive revenue generation through the acquisition of new customers and upselling/cross-selling to existing clients.
    • Develop and execute sales plans to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Market Analysis
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs within the human resources sector
    • Use market insights to refine sales strategies, identify new opportunities, and address emerging challenges.
  • Sales Process Optimization
    • Continuously evaluate and improve the sales process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement sales technologies and tools to streamline workflows and enhance sales productivity.
  • Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams
    • Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer success teams to ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Sales Performance Metrics
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and the performance of the sales team.
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis of sales metrics to the executive team.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting
    • Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets in collaboration with finance and executive leadership.
    • Monitor and adjust sales strategies based on actual performance against forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role for an enterprise B2B SaaS sales organization.
  • Required sales experience selling into C-suite, specifically CFO and CHRO or CPO leaders. Recommended but not required to have experience working with benefit brokers in the sales process.
  • Must have at least 5 years experience leading a team with a minimum of five sales representatives
  • Strongly recommended to have sales experience in either HR tech, payroll, healthcare, employee benefits or similar.
  • Must have experience working in a startup or early stage technology company
  • Proven track record of direct impact on significant revenue growth
  • Self-sufficient leader that is KPI-driven
  • Excellent skills in developing sales campaigns and growing the sales pipeline
  • Highly skilled in using Salesforce and recommended experience with Zoom Info or similar platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working remote and using web-based meetings with our team, our partners and clients.
  • Must be well-organized and ability to prioritize own tasks and guide priorities for the sales team

Location & Travel:

Remote but based in the Greater Chicago area, with monthly travel for conferences and occasional client meetings and/or prospecting.
