This role requires 10+ years of operations experience and expertise in continuous improvement, KPI governance, labor productivity, and cross-functional leadership to optimize throughput, reduce costs, and scale high-performance execution across multiple facilities.

Job Overview:

As the Director of Industrial Engineering, you will lead strategic initiatives that improve the efficiency, cost effectiveness, scalability, and service delivery of Stord’s national fulfillment network. This role drives transformative programs with measurable financial impact—focusing on throughput, labor, quality, and service performance.

You will serve as a key architect of Stord’s scalable operating model, integrating data, systems, and cross-functional alignment to achieve step-change improvements. The ideal candidate brings a track record of turning operational data into margin expansion, waste elimination, and high-performance execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Transformation & Continuous Improvement
Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize throughput, quality, cost, and service. Drive structured CI programs across all sites with direct accountability for ROI and scalability.

  • KPI Governance & Performance Infrastructure
Own the enterprise KPI framework and operational governance model. Define standard metrics, targets, and reporting cadences to drive accountability and transparency across functions and facilities.

  • Cost Optimization & Financial Impact
Partner with Finance and Site Operations to identify margin expansion opportunities across labor, waste, transportation, and facility performance. Build cost models and initiative tracking to measure program success.

  • Labor Planning & Productivity Strategy
Develop labor forecasting, staffing models, and productivity benchmarks to ensure labor efficiency across all fulfillment nodes. Support seasonal and customer-driven workforce planning with data-backed scenarios.

  • Service & SLA Management
Lead efforts to improve customer SLAs by reducing fulfillment defects, improving cycle times, and driving proactive performance management across sites.

  • Process Standardization & Best Practice Deployment
Collaborate with site leadership, engineering, and IT to design and deploy standardized workflows, SOPs, and system processes that elevate consistency and reduce variation.

  • Change Management & Adoption Enablement
Build scalable playbooks, change management frameworks, and training programs that accelerate adoption of new processes and tools across distributed operations.

  • Technology & Tools Enablement
Partner with Product, Engineering, and BI to implement operational systems and analytics platforms that support forecasting, monitoring, and execution improvement.

  • Network Benchmarking & Maturity Modeling
Conduct benchmarking across sites and customer programs to identify gaps and replicate high-performing behaviors. Build operational maturity models to assess and elevate execution across the network.

  • Team Leadership & Talent Development
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of analysts, engineers, and program managers. Foster a culture of ownership, results-orientation, and relentless improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing, with a strong focus on operational excellence and performance improvement.

  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide improvement initiatives with measurable impact on cost, quality, throughput, and service.

  • Deep experience with KPI frameworks, operational dashboards, and performance reporting systems.

  • Strong financial acumen with ability to connect operational performance to EBITDA and gross margin outcomes.

  • Proven ability to lead labor management, productivity modeling, and workforce planning across a multi-node network.

  • Advanced knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and CI methodologies (certifications preferred).

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional influence skills.
