We’re looking for a talented and driven Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-growing engineering team. In this high-impact role, you'll be a key contributor in designing, developing, and scaling robust solutions across our platform. You’ll own features end-to-end—from shaping technical specifications, building backend services using Elixir/Phoenix, to collaborating on frontend development in React.

This role will focus on the development and evolution of our Consumer Experience (CX) Platform—Stord’s consumer-facing solution that powers seamless pre- and post-purchase interactions for our clients' end customers.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver Scalable Systems: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, reliable, and secure software systems that prioritize simplicity and performance.

  • Own Features: Take ownership of features from ideation to deployment, collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring seamless delivery.

  • Full-Stack Impact: Work across the stack, with a primary focus on backend development (Elixir/Phoenix) while supporting frontend needs (React).

  • Mentor & Support: Provide guidance to junior engineers, promoting best practices, clean code, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate Effectively: Partner with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to define requirements, prioritize work, and build exceptional features.

  • Ensure Code Quality: Uphold and promote strong software engineering standards, including testing, documentation, and review processes.

  • Tackle Complex Challenges: Contribute to solving high-impact technical problems in a fast-moving and high-growth environment.

  • Improve Team Processes: Contribute to initiatives that improve developer productivity, system scalability, and platform reliability.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer or in a comparable technical role.

  • Strong backend development skills, ideally in Elixir or other functional programming languages.

  • Experience designing and building distributed systems or complex web applications.

  • Proficiency in SQL and other relational database technologies.

  • Experience with Kafka or similar messaging technologies in an event-driven architecture.

  • Deep understanding of system design, scalability, and engineering best practices.

  • Ability to lead initiatives and mentor teammates in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.

  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in startup or high-growth tech environments.

  • Background in logistics, supply chain, or e-commerce systems.

  • Familiarity with Order Management Systems (OMS) or Consumer Experience platforms.

  • Contributions to open-source projects or tech communities.
