Brief Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr QA Engineer to help ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing both manual and automated testing strategies, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to validate functionality, identify risks, and support release readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in modern test automation practices, CI/CD integration, and defect triage, along with a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, collaboration, and elevating quality standards across the engineering organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests to validate system functionality and feature behavior.
- Create and maintain QA artifacts, including test plans, test cases, and test data, aligned to team delivery needs.
- Partner with Product Managers and Software Engineers to clarify requirements and ensure appropriate test coverage.
- Own test planning, execution, and release readiness for the scrum team’s scope, clearly communicating quality status, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, providing clear reproduction steps and validation.
- Implement continuous testing practices by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improving test reliability, execution speed, and failure diagnostics.
- Triage and debug test failures across system layers to identify root cause and prevent regressions in collaboration with engineers.
- Influence quality outcomes beyond immediate ownership by sharing best practices and identifying cross-team risks.
- Provide informal mentorship through collaboration, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing to planning, refinement, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience in quality engineering, testing modern web applications and APIs
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Strong proficiency with test automation frameworks Strong proficiency with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Rest Assured, Selenium or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Gitlab Actions, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and version control (Git)
- Proficient in at least one programming/scripting language (Typescript/JavaScript, Java, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile environment using tools such as Jira or Confluence.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain quality risks and technical findings to cross-functional partners.
- Ability to independently triage and debug issues across multiple layers, including UI behavior, API responses, logs, and test data.
- Highly energetic, responsible, organized, self-disciplined, self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision.
