Brief Overview
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong backend expertise and growing full-stack capabilities to join our engineering organization. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining critical services within Amwell’s Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) solution suite.
The ideal candidate has deep experience building scalable microservices, strong cloud knowledge, and a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support key financial workflows while contributing to innovation initiatives across the engineering organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services within a microservices architecture.
- Build and support core RCM platform services, including payment, eligibility, cost, and discount services.
- Develop high-performance, reliable APIs and ensure system scalability and resilience.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to backend system design decisions.
- Support integration between backend services and frontend applications.
- Contribute to full-stack initiatives, including Angular upgrades and UI auditing features such as RTE calculation workflows.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives, including participation in engineering AI programs and committees.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building and maintaining microservices architectures.
- Proficiency with TypeScript and modern backend development practices.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting applications in AWS environments.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
