Brief Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will play a critical role within the engineering organization here at Amwell. We're looking for a passionate, results driven Principal Software Engineer to work on our cloud-based health care solution. The successful candidate will have a track record of leading software development projects in a continuous delivery-based environment.

Our software combines the best elements of the web, video, and telephony to bring patients and health care providers together in innovative new ways.

Core Responsibilities

Design and implement new functionality for Amwell’s Next Generation Software.
Drive quality and best practices into development through design and code reviews.
Active contributor throughout all SDLC from design, through development, release and ongoing operational support in the cloud.
Engage effectively with Architecture, Product, Visual Design and UX.
Mentor and lead junior and mid-level engineers.
Evaluate processes, tools and approaches to potentially incorporate into how we develop products to ensure we are always learning and improving
Work under minimal supervision; will be provided with assignments and objectives and given wide latitude for independent judgment
Ability to operate effectively in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of full stack software development experience with strong exposure to JavaScript (TypeScript, Angular, NodeJS)
3+ years of delivering highly scalable cloud-based applications.
Enterprise-level experience with Relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres / MongoDB / Redis / DynamoDB
Fluent in writing unit tests, integration tests and component testing.
Experience with writing cohesive and focused microservices using Java Spring Boot or NestJS.
Experience with cloud-based application management in AWS or similar technologies.
Proven track record of mentoring others, have the desire and ability to provide team members with the technical guidance needed to grow professionally.
Effective time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and shifting requirements.
