We are seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to lead and supervise a team of electrical engineers to accomplish the following duties:

This position will be based in our Santa Clara office. We are unable to consider remote workers or individuals who are not currently based in the US and legally authorized to work in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and design a high throughput wireless system to allow our company’s existing device to interface directly with computers

  • Develop and complete detailed, hands-on schematic and layout work

  • Develop characterization tests to ensure device components are safe, effective, and secure

  • Oversee the overall integration of company systems which comprises of hardware, firmware, and software to ensure the device system works seamlessly, consistently, and safely

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers and contract designers

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • At least a master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Must also have at least 10 years of hands-on experience as an electrical engineer working on medical devices

  • Demonstrated ability designing, characterizing, and testing wireless analog, digital and radio frequency systems for medical devices that have low power requirements and are volume constrained gained through at least 10 years of work experience

  • Demonstrated ability creating and executing on product development roadmaps for complex medical devices, including overseeing other team members' work as part of this experience gained through 2 years of work experience

  • Demonstrated ability creating design documentation that complies with Quality Management Systems under ISO 13485 gained through at least 2 years of work experience

  • Demonstrated ability in programming FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) using VHDL (Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language) gained through at least 2 years of work experience
