We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help build the environment in which our groundbreaking research and development takes place.
In this role you will build solutions that facilitate and interface with laboratory systems, neural recording stations, manufacturing facilities, and general business processes that safely and securely accelerate the company’s critical path.
This position will be based in or near one of our office locations (New York, Chicago, Dallas, Santa Clara). We are unable to consider remote workers or people not currently based in the United States, who have employment authorization.

Key Responsibilities
- Build solutions that facilitate and interface with laboratory systems, neural recording stations, manufacturing facilities, and general business processes that safely and securely accelerate the company’s critical path.
- Lead systems engineering efforts for cloud infrastructure, including AWS deployments.
- Ensure strong modern security architectures and practices are applied, to ensure Precision’s products and infrastructure are safe, effective and secure.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipeline infrastructure for software development.
- Build tools as needed using shell, Python, or another widely adopted scripting language.
- Architect and execute automated deployment of Linux systems for use at Precision’s partner healthcare institutions. Manage existing deployments, and scale as Precision deploys to more sites.
- Provide tier-2/3 support for challenging corporate IT technical issues.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% to offices and facilities on the east and west coast when on-prem changes are required and can not be performed remotely.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Systems administration experience on at least two of Linux, macOS, or Windows.
- Solid grasp of IaC tools, such as Git, Terraform, Docker, Packer, and Ansible. A demonstrated history of codification and automation.
- Strong grasp of core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, PXE, VLANs, IPSec and wireguard VPNs.
- Strong grasp of modern security architectures and practices, with demonstrable experience applying such principles in development and day-to-day business operations.
- Proficient in shell, Python, or another widely adopted scripting language.
- Demonstrable ability to solve immediate problems while designing and prioritizing long-term systemic solutions.
- Comfortable operating as a tier-2/3 support resource for challenging technical issues while participating in general IT operations and user support.
- Empathetic and patient, especially when collaborating with non-technical colleagues or mentoring teammates!
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of modern CI / CD practices, and experience applying them.
- Demonstrated experience managing and leveraging modern virtualization and containerization technologies, including both on-prem and cloud provider solutions.
- Working knowledge of major cryptographic protocols and authentication schemes such as TLS, x509, 802.1x, SAML auth, and FIDO2 standards, including U2F and WebAuthn.
- Experience managing enterprise-grade firewalls and switches.
- Experience working with compiled languages.
