Responsibilities

  • Shape and drive Perplexity’s localization strategy.

  • Experiment with and scale up AI-powered translation, mixing smart tech with expert human reviewers to balance speed, quality, and cost.

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and linguists, and bring on talented partners in key markets where we’re growing.

  • Oversee linguistic quality checks to make sure our translations hit a high bar.

  • Troubleshoot and streamline processes—find and fix technical or workflow roadblocks so our localized features work everywhere.

  • Collaborate with GTM, Product Ops, Partnerships, Legal, and local teams to prioritize languages, align on launch timing, and ensure the right surfaces are localized for the right audiences.

  • Keep our glossary and style guides organized and consistent, supporting product and marketing teams as we expand globally.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years managing localization for marketing, product, and cross-team projects—ideally at a tech company with global reach.

  • Hands-on experience with localization tools and systems (TMS, CMS, connectors, APIs).

  • Experience testing or rolling out AI/ML translation workflows, with humans involved for quality checks.

  • Comfortable collaborating with lots of different teams (marketing, product, engineering, legal, customer success) to launch globally.

  • Great at working with vendors and linguists, especially when sourcing talent for priority markets.

  • Solid communication and project management skills—you can keep a lot of balls in the air and know how to prioritize.

  • Confident digging into data and using insights to make smart decisions.
