Perplexity is looking for a Localization Manager to lead and scale localization efforts across the company, ensuring our products and content resonate with users globally. Reporting into the Product org, this role will manage translations for a diverse range of platforms ranging from mobile to desktop, as well as public facing communications.

Engineers at Perplexity design, create, and ship systems that power product experiences across a growing stack. As we connect Perplexity to more data sources, data at Perplexity is growing quickly both in volume and number of use cases. To scale, we are investing in a growing data engineering team that will be responsible for building reusable tools for instrumentation, ingestion, and retrieval.

Responsibilities

  • Drive localization strategy and execution across with alignment to Product and other orgs. Pilot and scale AI-first translation workflows with human-in-the-loop review, balancing speed, cost, and quality.
  • Manage vendor and linguist relationships, sourcing and onboarding high-quality talent in priority markets.
  • Lead linguistic QA and quality review processes, ensuring localized content meets high standards.
  • Proactively identify and streamline technical and process issues that affect localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality to improve localization workflows and internationalization infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with GTM, Product Ops, Partnerships, Legal, and regional teams to prioritize languages, align on launch timing, and ensure the right surfaces are localized for the right audiences.
  • Oversee glossary, style guide, and terminology management across all languages for consistency across product and marketing.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience managing localization across marketing, product, and cross-functional surfaces in a global tech environment.
  • Strong knowledge of localization workflows and tools (TMS, CMS, connectors, APIs).
  • Experience piloting AI/ML-assisted translation workflows with human-in-the-loop QA.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple functions (marketing, product, engineering, legal, customer education, trust) to deliver global launches.
  • Skilled in vendor and linguist management; experience sourcing for priority markets.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR
  • Exposure to SQL or analytics tools
  • Familiarity with low-code tools like Claude Code

The cash compensation range for this role is $180,000 - $250,000.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity may be part of the total compensation package.
