Sr. Software Engineer, Back End
Location: New York, NY
Role Purpose
Guide the development and enhancement of major cloud systems and AI technologies for big business use. Push forward with new tech ideas, support and direct your team, and collaborate with various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable solutions in multi-tenant distributed cloud environments.
- Drive the architecture and implementation of backend and full-stack systems using modern programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
- Develop and deploy AI native applications and multi-modal solutions, leveraging state-of-the-art models, tools, and frameworks (e.g., GenAI, LLMs, LangChain).
- Integrate AI into existing systems and propose AI-enhanced solutions to a variety of business challenges.
- Research, design, and build highly reliable and scalable platforms covering API design, model serving, and cloud infrastructure.
- Lead code reviews, system optimization, and technical documentation efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster best practices in software architecture, coding standards, and DevOps.
Required Skills & Experience
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years' experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems and cloud platforms.
- Advanced skills in backend programming (e.g. Go, Java, Python, C++) and distributed data technologies (e.g. PubSub, Kubernetes, Redis).
- Knowledge with cloud services (AWS/GCP), databases (SQL/NoSQL), and test-driven development.
- Hands-on work with GenAI, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and/or MLOps with experience building AI-oriented products.
- Deep problem-solving and performance optimization skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Exemplary communication and technical leadership abilities.

Compensation
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.
The expected salary range for this role to be performed in New York, NY is $160,000 - $180,000.
Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
