Description
Slack needs a content lead who can connect the dots: from what we say, to how it shows up across digital touchpoints (on the web, in campaigns, on social, and more), to whether it’s actually working. This role is that connective tissue.
As Senior Manager, Content & Digital Presence, you’ll research, write, and develop Slack’s thought leadership content: the articles, reports, and narratives that shape how the market thinks about the future of work. You’ll also hold the editorial framework across our digital presence, ensuring narrative cohesion from the blog to the website to campaign content. You’ll report to the Director of Content Strategy and work closely with PMM, SEO, Design, Brand, and Demand Gen to fuel integrated marketing motions and ensure GTM moments land with the right content behind them.
The best candidate is an exceptional storyteller who can translate complex strategic narratives into content that resonates across audiences, travels across formats and channels, and makes even the most complex launches feel clear and connected.
What You’ll Do
- Research, write, and develop thought leadership and digital content that reinforces Slack’s most critical narratives
- Manage the editorial calendar: prioritize topics, map content to GTM moments and Tier 1 launches, and keep output consistent across formats
- Hold narrative cohesion across digital touchpoints, including the blog, website, campaign content, and social
- Own editorial quality and content standards across Slack’s digital channels, including Slack.com and Salesforce.com/Slack
- Review copy before it goes live to keep it accurate, on tone, and on message
- Partner with PMM to turn approved product positioning into content that resonates with target audiences
- Work with SEO/AEO partners so content is built to be found and establishes Slack as an authoritative voice
- Bring an editorial lens to website decisions such as navigation and content priorities
- Build and manage AI-enabled workflows for research, drafting, content auditing, and performance tracking
- Track what’s working and use performance signals to sharpen content over time
What You Bring
- 6+ years of content strategy, editorial, or thought leadership experience at a B2B SaaS company
- A strong writer with a portfolio of content that moves markets, not just fills calendars
- Editorial judgment: you know what Slack should and shouldn’t be saying, and you can defend it
- Experience mapping content to GTM strategy and integrated marketing motions across web, campaigns, and social
- Comfort working across SEO, design, and campaign teams without needing a translator
- Comfort with AI tools as an accelerant, including knowing when to trust the output and when to override it
- The ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-moving launch environment
Preferred
- Experience with executive or ghostwritten content
- Familiarity with analytics and content performance tools
- Experience working with freelancers or agencies
