Description
About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword — it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing, and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place. Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
Job Overview
As a Senior SPARK Engineer on the Salesforce Industries Cloud team, you will help ensure that complex, business-critical Salesforce implementations are scalable, performant, resilient, and aligned with platform best practices. You will combine the architecture judgment of a Solution Architect with the hands-on diagnostic and engineering depth of a Performance Engineer.
You will conduct focused architecture and performance assessments across Salesforce Industries solutions, examining solution designs, custom code, data models, integrations, transaction flows, and non-functional requirements. You will identify risks early, validate designs against realistic workloads and platform constraints, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and provide practical recommendations to implementation teams.
This is a deeply technical advisory role rather than a delivery ownership, presales, or account management role. You will partner primarily with Salesforce engineering, product, Customer Success, architects, and implementation teams. Customer interaction is generally limited to targeted technical discovery sessions, design reviews, and findings readouts. The role does not require routine travel or continuous onsite customer engagement.
What You'll Do
Lead architecture, scalability, and performance assessments for sophisticated Salesforce Industries Cloud implementations.
Review end-to-end solution architecture, including Salesforce configuration and customization, Apex, Industries Cloud components, data models, integrations, APIs, asynchronous processing, and security boundaries.
Analyze business-critical transaction paths to identify latency, throughput, concurrency, resource-consumption, reliability, and data-integrity risks.
Evaluate solutions against Salesforce platform constraints, including governor limits, CPU and heap usage, SOQL selectivity, DML patterns, record locking, data skew, payload size, and large-data-volume behavior.
Translate business volumes and growth projections into testable workload models covering peak TPS, concurrency, data cardinality, retention, batch volumes, and worst-case transactions.
Review non-functional requirements and establish measurable performance budgets, acceptance criteria, and production-readiness indicators.
Inspect and debug code, queries, logs, traces, and runtime telemetry to isolate bottlenecks across application, integration, data, user-interface, and platform layers.
Recommend improvements such as bulkification, selective query design, indexing, caching, asynchronous processing, transaction decomposition, data lifecycle strategies, and resilient integration patterns.
Assess transactional integrity and operational behavior, including retries, idempotency, partial failures, rollback, race conditions, locking, observability, and recovery.
Produce clear architecture and performance findings, risk assessments, implementation gates, and prioritized remediation recommendations supported by evidence.
Track critical findings through validation and closure in partnership with product, engineering, Customer Success, and implementation teams.
Contribute reusable patterns, review methods, automation, and technical guidance to improve SPARK and Industries Cloud engineering practices.
Apply AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly to accelerate design analysis, investigation, documentation, and repeatable delivery activities
Required Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience across software engineering, Salesforce architecture, technical consulting, and performance validation, including repeated success with large-scale enterprise systems. Strong hands-on experience reviewing, or troubleshooting solutions on the Salesforce platform
Experience with Salesforce Industries Cloud or comparable industry-specific enterprise applications and complex implementation patterns. Preferably experience with one or more Salesforce Industries solutions, such as Financial Services, Health and Life Sciences, Communications, Media, Energy and Utilities, Public Sector, Insurance, or Loyalty Management.
Strong knowledge of Apex, SOQL, DML, asynchronous Apex, APIs, integration patterns, data modeling, and Salesforce platform governor limits.
Demonstrated ability to define system architecture, identify gaps between current and desired states, and recommend solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business outcomes.
Experience analyzing and resolving performance issues in distributed, multi-tier applications using logs, traces, profiling data, query plans, and system metrics.
Expert understanding of performance measures such as latency, throughput, concurrency, CPU, memory, database utilization, network behavior, and error rates.
Experience designing workload models, performance tests, or automation that reproduces realistic user and system behavior and detects regressions.
Development and debugging experience in Apex and at least one general-purpose language such as Java or Python.
Ability to assess large-data-volume designs, query selectivity, indexing, transaction boundaries, locking, and synchronous versus asynchronous processing tradeoffs.
Experience reviewing architecture artifacts, process flows, sequence diagrams, API contracts, user stories, and technical or functional designs.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to distinguish measured findings from assumptions, quantify technical risk, and drive issues to resolution.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and recommendations to architects, developers, product teams, and program stakeholders.
Ability to work independently across multiple workstreams while collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams.
Preferred Experience
Consulting or technical advisory experience, particularly in regulated or high-scale industries.
Salesforce certifications or accreditations relevant to architecture, development, Industries Cloud.
Experience assessing high-volume APIs, event-driven architectures, batch processing, mobile or browser performance, and multi-system integration flows.
