Description
Overview of the Role
We are looking for an early-career DevOps engineer to join a team of highly motivated software, systems and security engineers, working on infrastructure at scale. Be part of the team that solves infrastructure deployment problems with software, delivering high velocity and high quality infrastructure in public cloud environments.
Responsibilities

Come up to speed with Hyperforce platform tooling supporting Commercial and GovCloud deployments, developing expertise in Infrastructure and Service builds (Day0) and redeployment (Day2) operations
Transform manual processes into automated governance solutions
Create and maintain documentation for systems and processes
Collaborate with various Infrastructure teams across Salesforce, growing your influence and cross-functional skills
Work with a highly innovative team of developers, open-source committers, and architects — researching the right tools for the job, and helping build them when they don't exist yet
What You'll Learn
Large-scale production infrastructure management within 3rd party cloud service providers (AWS and beyond)
Ownership and accountability for infrastructure domains, with mentorship from senior engineers
Real-world DevOps practices across the full infrastructure lifecycle
Required Qualifications
Strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Must be located in North America

Foundational Linux/Unix knowledge (command line proficiency, basic system administration)
Experience with at least one scripting or programming language (Shell, Python, or Golang)
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPCs, security groups)
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
Experience using AI tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, generative AI) to accelerate development or automate workflows
Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated desire for continuous learning
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
Internship experience in a DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure role
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK)
Exposure to security and compliance concepts or tooling (IAM, PKI, OPA, Checkov, or similar)
Contributions to open-source projects
Exposure to on-call concepts, service monitoring, and SLI/SLO frameworks
