Description
Modern warfare is a data problem. As a MuleSoft Account Executive for COCOMs, you will be at the center of the military’s most critical priority: Interoperability. Your mission is to help Combatant Commands break down data silos across disparate legacy systems, partner nation networks, and "at-the-edge" environments. You will position MuleSoft as the connective tissue for initiatives such as Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), enabling a unified data layer that connects data at the edge.
Key Responsibilities
- The "Integration First" Strategy: Position MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform and DataGraph as the standard for API-led connectivity across COCOM J-code directorates.
- JADC2 & Mission Partner Environment (MPE): Drive adoption of secure data-sharing frameworks between the US and coalition partners to ensure seamless coordination during joint exercises and real-world operations.
- Legacy Modernization: Help COCOMs move away from "brittle" point-to-point integrations and custom-coded middleware toward a scalable, governed API ecosystem.
- Complex Stakeholder Management: Navigate the "Three-Legged Stool" of defense sales: the COCOM end-user, the Service Component, and the Systems Integrator (SI) executing the program.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Salesforce "Core" AEs to provide the integration layer that powers CRM, Tableau, and Slack mission sets.
Required Qualifications
- MuleSoft/Middleware Domain Expertise: 5+ years of experience selling Integration (iPaaS), API Management, or Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solutions. You must understand how to sell "the plumbing" as a strategic mission asset.
- COCOM Domain Deep-Dive: Direct experience navigating the mission requirements of commands like INDOPACOM, SOCOM, or EUCOM. You understand the challenges of the "Disconnected, Mid-range, and Low-bandwidth" (DDIL) environments.
- SaaS & Hybrid Cloud Fluency: Proven success selling subscription-based software within the DOW. Knowledge of FedRAMP High, IL5, and IL6 security architectures is non-negotiable.
- Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility preferred).
Preferred Attributes
- Technical Credibility: Ability to engage in high-level architectural discussions about Microservices, Service Mesh, and Zero Trust Architecture with J6/CTO leadership.
- SI Network: Existing relationships with the "Big 5" Federal Systems Integrators and specialized boutique firms focused on COCOM mission support.
- Outcome-Oriented: A track record of closing $1M+ ACV deals by focusing on mission outcomes (e.g., "reducing data latency") rather than just technical features.
