About Salesforce
We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.
The Global Incentive Compensation (GIC) team at Salesforce is a global leader for sales compensation in the technology industry. We manage the sales compensation for all Salesforce end to end - from designing the sales compensation plan to enable the company’s go-to-market strategy to administering the payment so that our sales teams get paid on time.
The GIC Analytics team’s charter is to leverage data to help GIC make better decisions and run more smoothly. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to lead our Assurance & Insights team and own the dual mandate of Financial Integrity (Assurance) and Strategic Intelligence (Insights).
We are looking for a transformative leader to take this function to the next level. You will not just oversee reporting; you will define the information strategy for the GIC Organization. You will lead the transition to "C-Suite Ready" insights on Sales Compensation, architect a robust, audit-proof Management Review Control (MRC) framework, and pioneer the use of AI and natural language querying to democratize information access.
You will lead a high-performing team of Analysts, serving as a trusted advisor to the GIC Leadership Team, Global Accounting, and Finance.
Key Strategic Priorities
1. Executive Insights & Strategy
The Vision: Move beyond "reporting the news" to "making the news." You will be responsible for architecting the narrative that informs SVP and EVP+ leadership. C-Suite Influence: Own the Quarterly Insights Review. You will synthesize complex compensation trends into concise, actionable strategic recommendations that shape future plan designs and go-to-market investments.
Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary Analytics partner to the SVP of GIC and the leaders of other functions, providing proactive guidance on pay-for-performance trends.
2. Financial Governance & Control Assurance
The Control Owner: You serve as the primary owner of the Management Review Controls (MRC) for the GIC organization. You are responsible for the design, execution, and continuous improvement of these controls to ensure 100% financial accuracy in commission payouts.
Audit Partnership: Act as the primary subject matter expert for GIC Analytics during audit cycles. You will partner with the central risk and control teams to facilitate walkthroughs with External Auditors and Internal Audit, defending the logic and health of our payout processes.
Culture of Rigor: Instill a "First Line of Defense" mindset across the analytics team. You will ensure that despite our drive for speed and innovation, we maintain a "zero-defect" standard for reporting and process integrity that aligns with the company’s broader risk framework.
3. Digital Transformation
The Futurist: Operationalize and champion the AI roadmap in reporting and insights for the team. You will lead the on-the-ground adoption of Generative AI and natural language querying to bridge the gap between business users and complex data in reporting.
Scalable Strategy: Move the organization from "ad-hoc requests" to a "Product-Led" reporting strategy. You will design and launch persona-based intelligence suites that serve specific user needs (from the sellers to the leaders) at scale.
4. Team Leadership & Development
Talent Magnet: Build, mentor, and retain a world-class team that sits at the intersection of Reporting, Accounting, Strategy, and Operations.
Change Leadership: Navigate the team through significant transformation, including system migrations and methodology changes, while maintaining high engagement and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field; or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Sales Strategy, or Analytics, with significant exposure to internal/external auditing.
Leadership: 3+ years of people leadership experience.
Executive Presence: Proven ability to command a room of senior executives. You can confidently present complex insights to senior leaders, navigate high-stakes Q&A, and defend controls to Auditors with equal poise.
The "Dual-Brain" Leader: You possess the unique ability to architect reporting strategy and guide BI developers (SQL, AI, Architecture) AND go deep into technical accounting (Accruals, SOX, P&L).
Transformation Track Record: Demonstrated success playing a key leadership role in a major functional evolution (e.g., restructuring a team, implementing a new GTM model, or driving digital transformation).
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or relevant Master’s degree.
CPA or extensive Big 4 Audit background (Manager/Senior Manager level).
Experience leading AI/ML initiatives within a Finance or Ops function.
Deep knowledge of the SaaS business model and enterprise software sales cycles.
