Department Description

Salesforce Professional Services focuses on delivering strategic engagements that define transformational opportunities and articulate clear plans for the execution of change programs. We rely on our team’s expertise and specialisms to engage with executive-level customers to agree on specific business goals and actions to ignite the full value of the Salesforce ecosystem. Our approach considers people, processes, and technology—and a successful engagement includes recommendations to the business for change to support deeper, more scalable enterprise integration using MuleSoft.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Salesforce is currently seeking a MuleSoft Technical Architect to join our Professional Services team within the Customer Success Group (CSG). MuleSoft Technical Architects work as part of a team, demonstrating technical thought leadership in customer and partner engagements. These lead to the successful delivery of complex enterprise integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.

Through our extended onboarding program of formal certification, internal training, knowledge transfer, hands-on experience, and close collaboration with other Architects, Consultants, and Project Managers, you will become a MuleSoft Domain Authority at the forefront of our offerings, delivering outstanding customer success.

As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for evaluating, designing, and overseeing the implementation of scalable and composable integration architectures. You will also identify and proactively handle technical risk areas, acting as the ultimate technical escalation point to see issues through to project completion.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Become a Domain Authority: Through our onboarding and continuous learning programs, become a highly certified and recognized MuleSoft expert.
  • Drive Customer Success: Help clients consistently meet and exceed their digital transformation goals by designing robust, scalable integration architectures.
  • Deliver Architectural Excellence: Provide guidance on API-led connectivity best practices, Enterprise Architecture standards, deployment topologies (CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, On-Premises), environment management, and MuleSoft Anypoint Platform education.
  • Create Blueprint Designs: Drive the creation of application and technical design documents that leverage MuleSoft best practices and effectively integrate disparate systems into the customer’s infrastructure.
  • Establish Centers for Enablement (C4E): Guide customers in setting up C4E operating models to drive API reuse, self-service, and agility across their organization.
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve: Address key customer implementation issues and demonstrate the ability to drive complex technical challenges to a successful resolution.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage technical risk areas, committing to seeing issues through to complete resolution.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage customer expectations and negotiate solutions to complex architectural problems with both the customer and third-party partners.
  • Relationship Building: Build relationships with internal and external business partners, contributing to broader goals and growth beyond the scope of a single customer engagement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Integration Expertise: Extensive hands-on technical and solution architecture experience in enterprise integration, specifically designing and implementing complex solutions.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of API-led connectivity, microservices architecture, Enterprise Integration Patterns, API design (RAML/OAS) and vibe coding.
  • Development Background: Coding experience in object-oriented languages (e.g., Java) and proficiency with integration development tools (e.g., DataWeave, CI/CD pipelines, Maven, Git).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze, design, and optimize complex business processes via technology and integration.
  • Advisory Skills: Ability to support customers and project members in rationalizing and deploying emerging technology.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed, matrixed team.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel: Available to travel regionally and occasionally internationally depending on customer needs.
  • Education: Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role.
  • Language: Proficiency in English AND Italian languages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MuleSoft Certifications: Active MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect and/or MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect credentials.
  • Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience integrating with the broader Salesforce Platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud) or other enterprise ERP/CRM products (SAP, Oracle).
  • Competitive Landscape: Experience with other middleware and integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, Apigee, TIBCO, Informatica) is a plus.
  • Consulting Experience: Proven track record working in a senior consulting or client-facing architectural role.
