As a PhD Workforce Innovation Intern, you will serve as a bridge between academic rigor and corporate strategy. You will lead research-driven initiatives to help Salesforce navigate the strategic integration of AI and emerging technologies. This role is designed for a researcher who thrives at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Organizational Behavior, and Applied AI.
What You’ll Lead:
Strategic Research & Framework Development: Design and execute high-impact research to redefine job architectures and organizational structures in an AI-first world.
HCI Advocacy: Apply advanced Human-Computer Interaction principles to ensure new work models enhance—rather than replace—human capabilities, focusing on the "augmentation" of the workforce.
Data-Driven Workforce Transformation: Leverage your AI fluency to analyze complex data sets, identifying opportunities for large-scale efficiency gains while maintaining a focus on employee well-being and inclusivity.
Experimental Design: Prototype and pilot new organizational models, evaluating their impact on productivity and employee experience through rigorous qualitative and quantitative methods.
Cross-Functional Thought Leadership: Translate complex theoretical findings into pragmatic, business-oriented insights for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Current PhD Candidate: Pursuing a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Computer Science, or a related field graduating in December 2026 or later.
AI/Tech Fluency: A deep understanding of how generative AI and automation are reshaping the modern labor market.
Qualitative Research: Skilled in conducting interviews and fieldwork; skilled at organizing and coding complex information to turn human insights and observations into clear, practical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pragmatic Mindset: The ability to balance academic depth with the speed and pragmatism required in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Research Expertise: Proven track record of designing original research, managing data, and applying theoretical frameworks to real-world problems.
Data Analysis: Proficient in R or Python for managing large datasets and creating data visualizations to communicate key research findings
