Role Overview

This Senior Director-level ESBP role sits within Salesforce’s Technology & Product (T&P) organization and provides strategic people leadership support to the Data Foundations organization — the teams responsible for building and evolving the enterprise data capabilities that underpin Salesforce’s platform, products, and AI-powered experiences.

At a time when data, AI, and platform scale are central to Salesforce’s strategy, this role operates as a trusted advisor to executive leaders, shaping people strategy, organizational design, and leadership effectiveness for a highly complex, multi-layered organization.

This role also serves as the people leader for a team of ESBPs, ensuring strong partnership, consistency, and integration across adjacent product and platform groups supported by other ESBPs.

You will work closely with senior Product and Engineering leaders to ensure the organization is positioned to scale, innovate, and deliver enterprise-grade data capabilities that enable Customer 360, AI-driven insights, and trusted data activation across Salesforce.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advising & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted people and organizational advisor to senior Product and Engineering leaders within the Data Foundations organization.

  • Influence executive decision-making by providing clear, business-grounded counsel on talent strategy, organizational health, leadership effectiveness, and workforce priorities.

People Strategy & Organizational Design

  • Partner with leaders to translate business and platform strategy into sustainable people and organizational models.

  • Lead workforce planning, role clarity, operating model evolution, and location strategy to support scale, efficiency, and long-term capability building.

  • Ensure alignment between platform-level priorities and downstream product and engineering execution.

ESBP Team Leadership & Integration

  • Lead and develop a team of ESBPs who support related product, platform, and data-adjacent organizations.

  • Drive consistency, quality, and integration across ESBP partnerships while respecting distinct scopes and accountability models.

  • Act as the connective tissue across ESBPs to ensure coherent people strategy execution across Data Foundations and its partner organizations.

Talent Planning & Leadership Development

  • Lead end-to-end talent planning, including succession planning, leadership pipeline development, and critical role coverage.

  • Partner with leaders to identify high-potential talent, development priorities, and readiness for expanded scope in a fast-scaling environment.

Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Act as a senior change agent, supporting leaders through complex organizational evolution driven by platform growth, AI acceleration, and shifting business priorities.

  • Partner closely with Employee Success Centers of Excellence to drive outcomes across engagement, performance management, compensation planning, and manager capability.

Data-Driven People Strategy

  • Leverage people analytics, workforce insights, and business data to inform decisions and proactively identify organizational risks and opportunities.

  • Translate data into actionable recommendations that improve organizational performance, resilience, and execution.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of HR / ES Business Partner experience supporting executive-level client groups in complex, technology-driven organizations.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Exceptional business acumen with the ability to quickly understand platform, product, and engineering strategies and translate them into people implications.

  • Demonstrated expertise in talent assessment, succession planning, and leadership development.

  • Proven ability to lead through change, influence senior leaders, and operate effectively in highly matrixed environments.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to drive outcomes through both formal and informal influence.
