About the Role:

We are seeking a Principal Researcher to support Missionforce, Salesforce products that enable mission-critical work across the U.S. Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, Aerospace, and Allied Nations. This role will help shape the next generation of mission-critical capabilities that democratize data, insights, and decision-making across the enterprise, empowering users to move from questions to action through AI-powered, agentic experiences.

The ideal candidate will lead both strategic and tactical research to inform product, design, and engineering decisions. They will bring deep expertise across applications, AI, analytics, data platforms, and complex mission workflows, along with a strong point of view on how AI can meaningfully augment human decision-making at scale. This role partners closely with highly technical, cross-functional teams to ground strategy in real customer needs, manage and synthesize multiple research initiatives, and keep customer value at the center of every decision.

Mission Impact:

  • Advanced understanding of research methods (qualitative and quantitative) and best practices, and familiarity with a broad range of user research tools

  • Advanced understanding in survey methodologies and tools (i.e. MaxDiff, Conjoints, segmentation, advanced analytics, SPSS, R)

  • Proven track record influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights

  • Ability to plan, design, execute and communicate both strategic and tactical research engagements

  • Ability to structure and lead internal and external workshops and analyze the outcomes to provide insight for stakeholders

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. customer success, solution architects, design, product management, engineering, marketing)

  • Excellent project management, communication, storytelling, and presentation skills

Required Qualifications:

NOTE: Please include a portfolio of 1-2 research projects with details of your direct contributions with your application.

  • 8-10+ years of experience conducting research in product research, user research, market research, or other technology contexts

  • Candidates should have familiarity with enterprise software, particularly as-a-service platforms, and a strong understanding of evolving Defense, Intelligence Community, and Aerospace personas

  • Candidates should also have hands-on experience with, or a solid working knowledge of, Generative AI and related technologies.

  • University degree in a research- or business-focused discipline or in a field emphasizing human behavior (e.g., Psychology, Anthropology, HCI, Business, Research Methodology, Experimental Design, Design Research)

  • Experience working in or adjacent to secure environments.

  • Ability to travel as needed to customer sites.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) living on U.S. soil who does not hold dual citizenship with the ability to meet customer and government screening standards applicable to this role.

  • Active Top Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or Federal Civilian agencies.

  • Background in defense/aerospace industries or operational military/logistics experience.
