Overview of the Role

We're looking for an experienced and hands-on software engineer to join our team to build and scale the next generation of infrastructure management service and operation solutions. Your charter will be to deliver multi substrate infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms, applying AI tools, that help Salesforce scale infrastructure.

Your Impact

  • Design and implement scalable vulnerability scanning frameworks and service automation for public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and on-prem infrastructure.
  • Develop integrations with open source and commercial scanning tools (e.g., Tenable, Nessus, CrowdStrike, etc) to improve detection coverage and reliability.
  • Create Infrastructure-as-Code modules (Terraform, CloudFormation) to embed security scanning into CI/CD pipelines and cloud provisioning workflows.
  • Write microservices and security automation running on container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) to orchestrate large-scale scan jobs and results processing.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues related to security scanning, detection accuracy, and API integration/ data ingestion pipelines..
  • Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and resiliency to ensure reliable vulnerability management at scale.
  • Partner with Product Security and Compliance to drive vulnerability remediation effectiveness.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure scanning infrastructure and pipelines remain highly available and performant.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of software development or infrastructure engineering experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Golang, or Java; ability to build APIs, microservices, and automation workflows.
  • Experience operating distributed systems or large-scale security tooling in production.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD security integration and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging platforms to ensure scanning systems remain healthy.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development.
