UX Tooling Engineer, Design Systems SMTS

The Design Systems Engineering team is expanding and looking for smart, ambitious, and creative UX Engineers. In this role, you will contribute to the next iteration of our design system, delivering the HTML, CSS and JavaScript for enterprise-level UI components, built with the latest web technologies. Your work will also involve partnering with product managers, designers, accessibility and enterprise cloud teams, to create robust experiences that are accessible to all and used by millions of developers across the globe.

Your Core Skillset :
We consider these skills to be essential for success in this role:
A proven track record of building complex and robust front-end applications.
8+ years professional software development experience with a solid experience in UI/UX development within cross-functional teams using modern frontend technology stacks.
Strong JavaScript skills, with a solid foundation in native JavaScript, its patterns, and experience with Web Components or frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Ember.
Well versed with one of the Object Oriented programming languages (Java or NodeJS) and Design patterns
Experience with modern UI frameworks and a tinkering mindset for trying new tools and approaches.
Attention to design details, ensuring that the final product aligns with design principles and user needs.
Agile/Scrum/Lean development methodology experience
Proven ability to manage ambiguity, delegate tasks effectively, and make informed decisions with limited information
The ability to clearly communicate and document technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Your Side Skills & Interests
While these skills are not critical for success in this role, having an interest in growing your skills in these areas will be helpful when dealing with your day-to-day work.
Solid foundational knowledge of semantic HTML, native JavaScript, and its patterns and good understanding of different JSON/YAML file formats and parsers/ASTs.
Familiarity with UX design principles and tools like - Figma, Sketch, etc.
Experience with Git and GitHub integrations to deployment infrastructure such as Heroku, etc.
Experience with contributing to open-source development and performing peer code reviews.
A love of solving problems — both human and technical.
Demonstrate attention to detail, with the ability to match design specs.
Experience with AI-powered development tools & IDEs
Hands-on experience with developing for different form factors through responsive design
