About the Role

The Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) Program Delivery team is seeking an experienced Director/Sr. Director, Cross-Functional Program Delivery manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives that will span across technology, product, and business teams. The type of programs being managed will be instrumental in enabling Salesforce’s agentic transformation thru technical delivery orchestration, and in partnership with business process evolutions.

This role requires a hand-on approach for the planning, execution and delivery across a complex organization matrix, leveraging best practices in building operational program structures, communication models for transparency, risk management and enabling key decision making frameworks across executive leadership, while also adapting for efforts on our Salesforce on Salesforce model, emerging technology programs and engineering roadmap priorities to deliver on our Agentforce 360 vision.

This is an advanced level, hands-on IC role requiring a seasoned professional who is experienced in bringing large scale deliveries to success, with autonomy, and is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a newly formed, cross-functional program delivery team, within the centralized Delivery Assurance and Operations (DA&O) DET pillar.

This is an office-flexible role for San Francisco, CA, and New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, Indianapolis, IN.

Your Impact:

  • Execution and delivery of strategic, technical initiatives that span across multiple pillars and organizations

    • Iteratively develop comprehensive timeline for planning, requirements delivery, solutioning, testing/UAT, systems reliability, compliance, business change enablement and overall launch readiness

    • Orchestration and connectivity assurance of the various technical components required to support business value enablement

    • Define appropriate communication model for Technical, Product and Business leadership at all levels

    • Risk management of delays, resource constraints, decisioning needs and overall timeline impacts

    • Ensure readiness of pre and post launch postures from both technical and business perspectives

  • Collaborative buildout of cross-pillar operating models

    • Build alliances with key TPM and PMO leaders to ensure trusted working relationships and effective ceremonies for continuous alignment and clarity of change management

    • Influence, lead and motivate accountabilities and shared ownership of overall program success

    • Drive critical conversations across leads in both technical and business discussions, ensuring appropriate decisioning and outcomes

  • Accountable as the Program Delivery sub-pillar within the centralized Delivery Assurance and Operations team

    • Align with Portfolio Management team on strategic roadmap priorities, DET investments in longer term efforts and ensure program delivery success of high profile initiatives

    • Partner with Operational Excellence on execution of impactful business process enhancements, and in Product Delivery for overall product operations process integration.

    • Ensure Systems Reliability engineering inclusivity with technical launch readiness activities leading up to large scale launches.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field preferred

  • Deep experience in leading large scale technical initiatives

  • 10-12+ years of experience in technical program management

  • 6-8 years of senior program management experience, including executive leadership alignment, communication, and presentation skills

  • 5 years experience in managing programs leveraging modern release and deployment tooling and methodologies, enterprise application development, distributed cloud-based microservices and backend data platforms for processing and analytical frameworks

  • 5 years of people management experience (engineering, product, operations, or program) is a plus

  • Strong experience in managing programs serviced via cloud computing environments, utilizing modern tooling and methodologies that support highly available, resilient, cost-effective and cloud-native architectures.

  • Strong experience working with data engineering and analytics teams is a plus

  • Business Process management is a plus, including process and workflow discovery and change management

  • Solid command of project methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Lean, Kanban)

  • Experience using project planning and PLM tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, Monday)
