Description
Are you an experienced technical writer who loves diving into the technical details and isn’t afraid to read code? We’re a collaborative team of writers working with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make Salesforce easier to use. In this role, you’ll be creating content for a highly technical developer and admin audience, covering everything from APIs and automation to platform services.
You’ll work on complex, highly technical projects, including UI/UX text reviews, developer guides, API references, and in-product help. You’re a problem solver with strong people skills, able to turn intricate technical details into clear, accurate, and useful content. You’ll also apply your content strategy expertise to plan and deliver documentation that supports new product and feature development. If you’re self-directed, passionate about technology, comfortable reading code, and eager to produce high-quality documentation, this role is for you.
Required Skills and Experience
10+ years of technical writing experience, with 6+ years writing for a developer audience
Ability to read and interpret code
Experience creating content for highly technical developer/admin audiences
Ability to work on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment
Strong content strategy skills with a customer advocacy mindset
Excellent people and communication skills
Focus on quality and attention to detail
Demonstrate excellent writing skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired Experience and Skills
Experience documenting APIs
Experience with source control software such as Perforce and Git
Experience with Markdown
Knowledge of DITA and XML-based authoring tools such as Oxygen
Working knowledge of XML or HTML
Experience with UI/UX text reviews
