We're adding to our Salesforce Core Platform, Lists Team! We're looking for a versatile full-stack software developer who wants their lines of code to have significant and measurable positive impact for users, the company’s bottom line and the industry. You will be working with a group of outstanding engineers to build the breakthrough features our customers will love, embrace and use while keeping our trusted platform stable and scalable! The software engineer role at Salesforce encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality.

You will be joining the Lists team, a highly collaborative, full-stack engineering group that owns the "Lists" product from end-to-end on the Salesforce Core Application.

Our backend pillar builds the foundational APIs and services in Java, owning all the code that supports list views, related list and its creation, updates, filtering, and deletion.

Our frontend pillar creates the client-side display layers in LWC and Aura, allowing users to find and interact with their data. We have backend and frontend focused engineers, but we work as one seamless unit and share ownership of critical, reusable components like 'LWC Common Lists,' which are used by teams across Salesforce to build their own list-based interfaces.

As key contributors to strategic company initiatives, we are also actively involved in building new List functionality for various Agentforce-related projects.

Your Impact:

  • Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products

  • Master our development process, culture and code base, then improve it

  • Operate efficiently in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to be able to craft and implement the vital work to ensure quality in their own code as well as other specialists

  • Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes

  • Present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others

  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics

  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address sophisticated problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available

Required Skills:

Leveling will be determined by demonstrated skills/experience and performance in the interview process

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (MTS)

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience (SMTS)

  • Proficient in Java

  • Solid understanding & experience of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, JSON, and/or Ajax

  • Solid understanding of Database technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL and relational database schema design

  • Experience in working and developing with AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • Experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit, Selenium

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A related technical degree required

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC)

  • Working experience with multiple front-end frameworks, such as Angular, Vue, Ember, React, etc. to have an opinion of the qualities of each versus the others

  • Experience building highly scalable web applications

  • Experience with Agile software development and test-driven development

Join our dynamic team at Salesforce and make a real impact with your code! We embrace the hybrid model and celebrate the individual strengths of each team member while encouraging everyone on the team to grow into the best version of themselves.

We believe that autonomous teams with the freedom to make decisions will empower individuals, products, companies, and customers to thrive. Come be a part of our innovative and collaborative environment, where your skills will thrive and your ideas will be valued.
