Description

Overview

You'll join a critical and innovative Salesforce Commerce project, advancing online shopping into the realm of agentic commerce. As an ML engineer, you'll work at the intersection of large-scale backend systems and machine learning applications. This role emphasizes integration with the ML ecosystem—leveraging models, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, and inference services—but is not primarily focused on model development. You will design and build systems that make intelligent use of ML functionality and ensure that ML‑enabled features are reliable, performant, and seamlessly integrated with core services.

Strong awareness of ML concepts (such as model lifecycle, training/inference trade-offs, and evaluation principles) is essential, as your work will ensure that the end-to-end agentic shopping platform functions seamlessly and scales effectively. You will frequently collaborate with ML research and ML platform teams to integrate, deploy, and monitor intelligent systems that enhance the shopper experience.

We value a start-up mentality—people who learn fast, innovate quickly, and leverage both Salesforce and industry tools for rapid iteration.

Your Impact

You will help shape this high-impact project from its earliest version to commercial success, driving industry innovation in agentic shopping. By continuously learning and adapting as new design patterns for LLM-enabled products emerge, you'll play a key role in setting the direction for next-generation machine learning-driven shopping experiences.

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and extensive experience with Java and Python

  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and REST API development

  • Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks.

  • Strong collaboration skills and a growth mindset.
