About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Specialist with deep expertise in enterprise procuretech integrations to strengthen our Pre-Sales team. This role is responsible not only for leading integration-focused technical evaluations with prospects, but also for enabling the broader pre-sales organization with the knowledge, content, and tools required to confidently articulate our integration strengths. You will act as the subject matter expert on integration architecture, challenges, and competitive differentiation, while ensuring our demo environments remain fully functional and showcase best-in-class, production-grade integrations. This role bridges Sales, Product, and Implementation by capturing real customer requirements, bringing implementation learnings back into demo systems, and translating complex integration concepts into compelling, customer-friendly assets.
Role Requirements
Technical Architecture & System Expertise
- ERP & P2P Ecosystem Mastery: Expert-level understanding of the technical architecture, data schemas, and API frameworks of major procurement and ERP ecosystems (e.g., Coupa, SAP, Oracle, and Ariba).
- Integration Engineering: Function as the "Engineer in the room" for complex deals. You must be able to architect end-to-end data flows, addressing API rate limiting, webhook vs. polling strategies, asynchronous queuing, and retry logic.
- System-to-System Orchestration: Ability to design-review complex orchestration workflows that connect intake-to-pay processes across disparate enterprise systems.
- Technical Discovery: Lead integration-focused discovery sessions to map out a prospect’s current "as-is" landscape and design a tailored, production-grade "to-be" technical architecture.
AI & Agentic Orchestration
- Agentic Workflow Design: Ability to conceptualize and build autonomous or semi-autonomous "agents" that can execute procurement tasks across multiple systems (e.g., an agent that identifies a contract gap and triggers a renewal workflow in CLM).
- AI Implementation: Experience leveraging LLMs and generative AI to automate data mapping, extract metadata from unstructured procurement documents, or enhance user-facing "intake" experiences.
- Prompt Engineering & Logic: Proficiency in designing the underlying logic and prompts that allow AI agents to navigate enterprise guardrails and compliance rules effectively.
Technical Enablement & Asset Creation
- Engineering Reference Materials: Act as the primary author for technical "prospect-ready" content. You will create the diagrams, technical one-pagers, and architectural whitepapers that the rest of the sales team will use as their source of truth.
- Demo System Ownership: Serve as the technical lead for the integration readiness of all demo environments, ensuring they showcase best-in-class AI and agentic capabilities.
- Pre-Sales Technical Training: Train and equip the broader Pre-Sales team with deep integration knowledge and demo scripts.
Professional Background & Experience
- Senior Technical Experience: 8+ years in a senior technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineering, Technical Architect, or Technical Pre-Sales within the Enterprise SaaS space.
- Implementation Expertise: Extensive experience leading or architecting SAP and Ariba implementations is highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of how these systems interface with third-party orchestration layers.
- Technical Communication: Exceptional ability to "translate" between high-level business value and deep-stack technical engineering.
- Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent deep hands-on experience in software engineering and systems integration.
