Our Moonachie NJ DC is our largest site in the network and is at the center of this! The Moonachie NJ DC- is responsible for delivery of the largest volume in our network. This site has our largest volume of drivers and vehicles. Fleet management is an emerging need. Interested? Learn more below.

We are looking for a Fleet Associate to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for the readiness, safety, and performance of our vehicle fleet (refrigerated vans + box trucks) in support of a very high revenue operation. This role provides hands-on leadership to coordinate: fleet safety and maintenance, pre-trip inspection, lifecycle management, asset control, and equipment readiness for our drivers. While the leader in this role will initially focus on the NJ DC, there will be regional and national application of best practices, systems, and processes.

Ideal candidates have experience in fleet maintenance and dispatch support, strong organizational skills, and operational leadership in delivery or warehouse environments.

How you’ll make an impact:

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Champion fleet safety programs in partnership with the Sr. Manager of EHS and site leadership.
  • Uphold DOT, OSHA, food safety, and company safety standards.
  • Conduct vehicle and driver equipment safety audits; identify trends and drive corrective action.
  • Review violations and collaborate with AGMs and Safety Leads to implement preventive programs and corrective actions.
  • Lead initiatives to improve PM compliance, fleet readiness, and loadout safety performance.

Fleet Readiness & Maintenance

  • Develop and manage Preventive/Corrective Maintenance (PM/CM) programs that reduce downtime and cost per mile.
  • Drive vendor performance and participate in service contract negotiations to improve quality and control spend.
  • Audit fleet maintenance records and invoices for trends and compliance to company standards.
  • Track fleet health through KPIs such as uptime, downtime, repair turnaround, and PM adherence.
  • Use telematics to monitor vehicle health, driver compliance, fuel efficiency, and utilization.
  • Maintain compliance with all inspection, registration, IFTA, toll, and licensing requirements.
  • Develop and enforce driver pre-/post-trip inspection standards and accountability processes.
  • Oversee accident reporting and investigations, ensuring corrective action and process discipline.
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and alignment with estimates and negotiated rates.
  • Coordinate daily repair activity with maintenance vendors to minimize service disruption.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

  • 3-5 years of transportation, Fleet operations, Fleet maintenance, and Fleet safety experience.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration units, light-/medium-duty vehicles, and basic mechanical systems.
  • Skilled in PM/CM coordination, vendor management, and cost-control practices.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfortable working evening or overnight shifts supporting active fleet operations.
  • Excellent communicator with drivers, dispatchers, and vendors.
  • Experience leading and coaching in fleet, warehouse, or delivery environments.
  • Familiar with WMS, telematics, and fleet management systems.
  • Background in last-mile or foodservice delivery preferred.

Base compensation for this role is between $77,000- $88,000
