Ninja Van Legal Team wishes to bring on board a commercially-savvy Legal Counsel to augment the legal team's capacity. This counsel is expected to be a self-motivated individual, pro-active communicator and able to work in the Ninja Van Subang, Malaysia office on legal matters for business units in Singapore. He or she is expected to handle commercial and procurement contracts and manage and resolve disputes.
Job Descriptions:
- Reviewing and advising on NDAs and commercial and procurement contracts in accordance with the Group Contracting Policy.
- Advise on and manage complex tenders.
- Handle and advise on disputes, litigation and arbitration with customers and suppliers.
- Legal research and advice on regulatory matters.
- Candidate is expected to work on other legal matters and support in legal department operations as assigned from time-to-time.
- Candidate reports to Ninja Van Group General Counsel but is expected to work with business units in Singapore and collaborate with other legal team members across Ninja Van Group.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
- Provide clear, constructive, and effective legal and business communication to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Handle litigation and dispute resolution matters related to commercial issues, including managing external counsel when required.
- Prepare comprehensive legal advice, opinions, and business-oriented memorandums to support decision-making.
- Conduct thorough legal research on commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise on and manage ongoing commercial disputes and litigation processes to protect the company’s interests.
Job Requirement:
- Recognised law degree from a leading university in Malaysia or a common law jurisdiction.
- Admission to the Malaysian Bar, or the equivalent in England & Wales, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, Singapore, California or New York.
- 5 to 8 years of legal work experience in a law firm and legal department of a reputable company.
- Legal work experience in logistics or e-commerce will make the candidate stand out.
