The Regional Sales Manager, Ninja Freight is responsible for overseeing and managing the cross-border sales/operational activities of freight forwarding services within a specific region.
There are 2 main responsibilities for this role:
1) Develop & grow acquisition within Singapore Territory; retaining existing clients by being a strong account manager
2) Ensure all Ninja Freight shipments throughout the Region (Deals originating from other sales in SG, MY, TH & ID) have best-in-class operations by working with Agents throughout the Region
The incumbent is required to oversee commercial operations of all shipments with worldwide origin to worldwide destination; liaise with internal stakeholders/ agent’s worldwide (depending on deal)
1) Solutioning based on requests from all deals (including other Salesperson within Ninja Van)
2)Ensure that deals are quoted on time and value propositions are up to standards
3) Work with Operations and Solutions team to resolve operational issues promptly through freight forward experience as well as strong collaboration with Ops, Agents & Vendors.
The incumbent is also required to plan for Singapore Territory; ensuring i) revenue achievement for Singapore Territory is achieved through acquisition and retention of accounts, ii) Gross margins are achieved through pricing & solutioning of products sold.
This includes the responsibility to update CRM (Salesforce) for adequate data hygiene and adhere to all SOPs pertaining to Ninja freight commercial operations; from a) shipment confirmation to delivery of shipment b) Customer/ Vendor onboarding & shipment confirmation with solutions team. The incumbent will work closely with the team and other stakeholders in ensuring all SOPs are followed through on Sysfreight (Ninja freight system), from procurement of solution to payment to vendor; and quotation to customer to billing customer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue and margin targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers.
  • Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Find new opportunities through cold-calling or referrals.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential customers.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage sales reports and forecasts.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitive activity.
  • Development strong agent relationship for solutioning & revenue referrals.
  • Develop and create strong network of vendors which enables Sales/BD to quote for all deals regardless of origination & destination.
  • Ensure cost procurement is competitive through multi-enquiry of rates to providers.
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations and shipment documentation requirements.
  • Manage the transportation of goods from origin to destination, including scheduling and tracking shipments.
  • Design, oversee and manage preparation and processing of shipping invoices, bills of lading, and other documentation.
  • Serves as escalation point to all sales & own shippers on any operation issues or complaints.
  • Monitor and track all Ninja freight shipment status to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate with internal departments and stakeholders to coordinate shipments & record both revenue & cost.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable to minimize outstanding balances.
  • Communicate with internal departments and stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare reports and analysis to track billing and payment performance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing and payment transactions.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Evaluate and implement systems and tools to improve billing and payment processes.

Requirements

  • 4 - 6 years experience in freight forwarding industry
  • Experienced business development in freight forwarding products
  • Pricing & Solutioning experience across carriers or consolidators
  • Operational experience managing full shipment journey
  • Proficient in Excel / Google suites / data management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to strive in an ambiguous environment
  • Proven customer success & strong retention ability
  • Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) & Sysfreight is a plus
