Insurance is a trillion dollar market that is fundamental to society, yet it has not modernized — until now.
Newfront is building the modern insurance experience.
We've reimagined the experience for clients, prospects, and employees, altering the way people create, understand, select, transact, and use insurance. We're changing the approach so that it starts and ends with the client, not the product, and empowering people for moments that matter.
Our unique approach recognizes both the vast potential of technology and the fundamental role of insurance experts. We're a technology-driven company with DE&I in our DNA and strong values; we believe people matter most.
Our mission is to define the future of the insurance industry, while instilling a high performance culture in combination with living our Work, Love, Play ethos each day. We value balanced lives and are passionate about creating a culture of wellness that results in healthier, happier, and more productive employees, and more successful clients.
As Newfront continues to scale, we’re seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of AI-powered solutions that modernize the insurance experience for our clients and brokers. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role will translate advancements in large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), and document intelligence into impactful, user-centric products. You’ll define and execute the AI product strategy, partnering with Design, Engineering, and Insurance teams to deliver intelligent tools that streamline workflows, enhance decision-making, and unlock new value for clients and brokers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of complex insurance data, emerging AI capabilities, and real-world business challenges—and is passionate about building transformative products from the ground up.
This position is a salaried, exempt, full-time role. This is a US hybrid role with the option to work from any of Newfront’s offices.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Own a portion of our AI product roadmap, identifying high-value business opportunities where AI can materially improve efficiency, accuracy, or client experience.
Lead rapid experimentation with foundation models (LLMs, multimodal models) to validate product concepts and business impact before scaling.
Collaborate with ML and data science teams to define and curate annotated datasets, ensuring high-quality training and evaluation data.
Define and launch AI agent architectures that automate or augment workflows across quoting, client servicing, renewals, and risk advisory.
Develop and manage evaluation frameworks for model performance—quantitative metrics (precision, recall, latency) and qualitative measures (factuality, usability).
Collaborate with engineering to build secure, scalable integrations into core systems (AMS, CRM, document management).
Measure and communicate outcomes, tracking adoption, productivity gains, and business results from AI initiatives.
Ensure ethical, transparent, and compliant AI use, working closely with legal, compliance, and data governance teams.
Maintain a strong awareness of trends and innovations in the rapidly evolving AI landscape, proactively evaluating opportunities and introducing new ideas and technologies to drive product differentiation and value.
Qualifications:
A minimum of six (6) years of product management experience is required. Demonstrated track record of launching enterprise-grade or workflow-intensive software products.
A robust technical foundation, evidenced by a degree in computer science or engineering, or by substantial professional experience working closely with technical teams.
Proven ability to bridge engineering, data science, and product disciplines, translating system-level constraints and research insights into commercially viable, user-focused solutions.
Demonstrated experience managing technical roadmaps, architecture tradeoffs, and cross-functional dependencies in high-stakes product environments.
Excellent technical communication and fluency in technical artifacts such as APIs, data schemas, model evaluation reports, and system design documents.
Proven ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into structured, actionable product roadmaps and to drive their successful execution.
Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to effectively collaborate across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Hands-on experience building or managing products with machine learning, NLP, or generative AI components, particularly LLMs and transformers.
Deep understanding of vector databases, semantic embeddings, document structure parsing (e.g., layoutLM), and information retrieval techniques.
Practical experience with data pipeline design, feature engineering, training data curation, model retraining triggers, and deployment automation (CI/CD for ML).
Familiarity with evaluating AI systems at scale, including offline accuracy testing, online A/B testing, user feedback integration, and drift detection strategies.
Working knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, hybrid search architectures, and techniques for grounding LLMs in enterprise data.
Experience operationalizing HITL systems, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and prompt engineering best practices for production systems.
