Senior GBS Intelligent Automation Developer

About the role:
The Senior GBS Intelligent Automation Developer is a senior technical contributor within the GBS Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence (COE), part of GBS Data & Digital. The role designs and delivers scalable digital solutions that simplify business processes, improve employee experiences, and increase operational efficiency.
We are looking for an experienced software engineer with strong Python expertise and full-stack development experience across user interfaces, workflow and business logic, APIs and integrations, enterprise data, and cloud services. The ideal candidate combines hands-on development with solution design, technical leadership, and strong business partnership skills and is comfortable working across multiple layers of a solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of complex automation and digital applications from concept through production.
- Develop full-stack solutions spanning user interfaces, workflows and business logic, APIs and integrations, data, and cloud services.
- Develop production-grade applications and services using Python and modern front-end technologies such as React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Design scalable solutions leveraging AWS, enterprise APIs, SQL/data platforms such as Snowflake, and Microsoft Power Platform.
- Build applications and workflow solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate where low-code technologies are appropriate for the business need.
- Translate complex business needs into technical solutions and determine the appropriate approach across custom development, cloud, low-code, automation, data, and emerging technologies.
- Establish reusable components, engineering standards, and development patterns; mentor developers through technical design and code reviews.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for security, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, documentation, resiliency, and governance.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Identify opportunities to modernize legacy solutions and apply AI, generative AI, and intelligent agents where they create measurable business value.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 7+ years of relevant software engineering, application development, automation, or related technical experience.
- Advanced Python skills with experience developing production-grade applications and services.
- Experience developing solutions across multiple layers of the technology stack, including user interfaces, application logic, APIs/integrations, and data.
- Experience with modern front-end development technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of APIs and integrations, SQL/data platforms, cloud development, and modern software engineering practices.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, secure development, monitoring/observability, and production support.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, solution design, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across global and cross-functional teams.
- English required; additional languages are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing applications and services on AWS.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar enterprise data platforms.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless architectures, infrastructure-as-code, or modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with platforms such as Palantir, Celonis, or Moveworks.
- Experience applying AI, generative AI, intelligent agents, or machine learning to business applications and workflows.
- Experience modernizing legacy solutions or establishing reusable software engineering standards.
- Experience working in regulated, global, or shared services environments.
