This isn't a "just execute what's on the ticket" type of role. It's a "know the customer better than they know themselves" role. You'll own the Email charter end-to-end — one of the highest-volume, highest-stakes surfaces in the Campaigns suite — and be judged on whether customers actually adopt what you ship, not on how well you followed the spec someone else wrote.
Email at scale is deceptively hard. Deliverability, template systems, personalization, AMP, engagement analytics, compliance, and the long tail of ESP and inbox-provider quirks you didn't know existed. You'll own that entire surface — the strategy, the roadmap, the shipped features, and the outcomes attached to them.
You'll report into the Campaigns product leadership, work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and design, and spend a meaningful chunk of your week talking to customers, reading support threads, and digging through usage data — because that's where the real opportunities live, not in a brainstorm.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own the Email charter- Set the direction for where Email goes over the next 4-6 quarters, defend the bets, and make sure the roadmap ladders up to a story customers and the business both buy.
- Customer Research, Relentlessly- Run structured VoC/VoP analysis — customer calls, support ticket audits, CSM conversations, in-app feedback — to build a constantly-updated picture of where Email is winning and where it's losing deals or trust. Turn scattered anecdotes into a ranked list of real problems.
- Opportunity Mining- Don't wait for a PRD to land in your inbox. Mine support channels, churn signals, and feature requests to surface the 2-3 gaps that matter most this quarter — and defend why those and not the other twenty.
- Execution, End to End- From decision-anchored PRD to shipped feature — write the spec, resolve edge cases, sit in every standup that matters, unblock engineering, and make trade-off calls when scope and timeline collide. Ideas are cheap; shipped is the job.
- Adoption Is the Metric- Shipping isn't done at code-complete. Partner with CS, Sales, and Marketing to drive activation — enablement decks, in-app nudges, customer outreach — and own the adoption number, not just the release note.
- Voice of the Customer, Internally- Be the translator between "what customers are saying" and "what we build next." Feed structured research back into prioritization debates and hold the team accountable to solving the problem, not just the ticket.
- 5+ years of product management experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
- A track record of features you've shipped and driven to adoption — ideally with the metrics to prove it.
- Comfort owning a charter with minimal hand-holding: setting direction, saying no, defending trade-offs.
- Strong customer intuition backed by data; you can quote the last five customer calls you sat in on.
- Sharp written communication — PRDs, memos, and one-pagers that actually get read and acted on.
- Experience in Martech / Customer Engagement / Marketing Automation / CDP-adjacent products.
- Hands-on experience with Email as a channel — ESPs, deliverability, template systems, personalization, AMP for Email.
- Prior work on a platform or infrastructure-flavored product (vs. a single-purpose app).
