We are seeking a results-driven and culturally aware QA Manager to lead and manage Halal certification and compliance initiatives across multiple countries. We would prefer the candidate to have Halal and compliance proven experience in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) or Food & Beverage (F&B) sector. The incumbent is to ensure our supply chain, food preparation, and operational practices meet and maintain the highest standards for Halal certification and quality assurance in diverse regulatory environments. Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 8 years' of QA/QC experience in the food service or QSR industry, with 3+ years in Halal compliance or certification. Proven experience driving Halal and compliance initiative across multiple countries preferred.
- Proven experience in auditing operational processes in foodservice environments. Strong understanding of Halal regulations and international standards across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; project management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Collaborative, conscientious, strong in follow-up and keen eye for details
- Must be willing to travel extensively (more than 50%)
Responsibilities:
- Halal Certification Leadership: Lead and manage Halal certification projects across multiple countries, coordinating with recognized Halal certification bodies to ensure full compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and interpret international and local Halal regulations (e.g., JAKIM, MUIS, SFDA, MUI), and integrate these into QSR operations, policies, and practices across countries we are operating in.
- Operations Flow Auditing: Conduct regular end-to-end audits of the restaurant operations flow, from raw material receipt to final customer delivery, to ensure compliance with Halal protocols and QA standards. Identify gaps, non-conformities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Supply Chain, Procurement, Store Operations, Legal, and Training teams to ensure Halal practices are embedded in the entire product and service lifecycle.
- Supplier and Vendor Management: Approve, audit, and monitor suppliers and distributors for Halal and QA compliance. Address and follow up on deviations with clear action plans.
- Training and Awareness: Design and implement Halal training programs for QA teams, kitchen staff, and franchisees. Promote ongoing awareness of Halal requirements and best practices.
- Documentation & Audit Readiness: Maintain complete and accurate documentation of certification activities, operational audits, supplier reviews, and staff training records. Lead internal and third-party Halal and QA audits.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities across the QA and Halal compliance system and implement preventive measures to mitigate risks.
