About the Role

We are looking for a Director - Growth Strategy Payer markets which includes National and Regional payers as well as Provider Led Health Plans. This is a key role within the Growth Strategy team at Innovaccer. You will be responsible for driving the go-to-market and overall growth strategy for this market. You will partner closely with the market GMs, Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to help define the priorities, messaging, pitch decks, deal strategies, and outreach strategy for these markets. You will drive high-priority sales conversations, building the relationship with the prospect, telling the Innovaccer story, best positioning our solutions and discussing the art of the possible.

In this role, you will be formulating business strategies and partnering closely with the sales, product and marketing teams to drive high-priority sales conversions and faster deal closures. The variable compensation for this position will be aligned to the revenue target for this market.

This is a key leadership role within the Growth Strategy team at Innovaccer. The Growth Strategy team focuses on 5 key areas:

  • Collaboration with the sales and partnership teams to define our strategy and approach to win Innovaccer’s largest and most complex deals
  • Defining and executing the strategies to drive exponential growth for the organization
  • Partnering with the product and marketing teams on market strategy
  • Collaboration with the customer success team to structure and execute our expansion strategy at existing customers
  • Designing the operational structures and playbooks to enable rapid scale of the “Go To Market” organization

The Director of Growth Strategy will lead these areas for the Payer market. You will be formulating business strategies, defining custom solutions,, and partnering with the sales team to drive higher sales conversion and faster deal closures.

A Day in the Life

  • Drive large and complex high-priority deals / upsells. Engage in consultative discovery and “art of the possible” discussions to understand the prospect or customer’s key pain points and design an approach based on Innovaccer solutions and services to address those needs and drive business impact
  • Work collaboratively with product, sales, marketing and external partners to design solutions
  • Conduct research on industry topics, develop pitch decks, business cases, and ROI models to support the deal progression
  • Architect and execute on overall growth strategy to drive growth for the market in collaboration with the GMs and Product team
  • Be the face of Innovaccer to executives on our most critical deals
  • Bring “the best of Innovaccer” to every prospect/customer discussion and RFP response. Coordinate end-to-end on what is needed for the deal and the meeting - content/collateral building, pitch decks, proposals, nurture materials, anticipating next steps and challenges and proactively developing solutions etc.
  • Take ownership of internal follow-ups associated with assigned deals. Collaborate with other Innovaccer teams such as product, implementation, delivery, and SME colleagues to develop engaging proposals, presentations and RFP responses
  • Design the demonstration storyline
  • Collaborate with product and other teams to develop figmas, and design workflows to support art of the possible and future-looking discussions
  • Guide and train junior team members on the market, storylining, strategic problem solving etc.
  • Be willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done in addition to providing strategic direction

What You Need

  • 8+ years of experience in Healthcare Payer consulting with a top consulting firm and/or experience working with a large payer and/or Provider Led Health Plan
  • Deep payer market and payer technology ecosystem and architecture understanding
  • Strong understanding of payer operations and organizational structures
  • Deep understanding of Risk Adjustment, Quality Management, Clinical Data requirements, and Value-Based Care Analytics from a Payer perspective
  • Self-starter should be able to apply critical thinking in fast-moving environments without relying on documented steps
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Adept at working cross-functionally to meet aggressive deadlines while maintaining professionalism and poise
  • Exceptional client-facing and presentation skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Expert at presenting ideas using slides.
  • Ability to write to, and speak with C-suite executives in a way that creates confidence and credibility - to be seen as very worthy of their time and attention
  • Experience in software and technology sales is a plus.
  • MBA from top B-School or equivalent qualifications from a top school
  • Willing to travel to prospect / customer sites
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
