Responsibilities:

Data Strategy Development:

Develop and implement data science strategies aligned with business goals.
Identify opportunities to leverage data for competitive advantage.
Ensure data governance and compliance with relevant regulations.

ML Model Development and Analytics:

Lead the development of data science and analytical modules of Hypersonix products for the retail & Ecomm industry, including systems for Generative AI/NLP problems, price optimization, promotion planning, inventory planning, demand forecasting etc.
Work closely with software engineering, product management, design, and customer success teams to deliver commercial grade software on schedule

Leadership and Team Management:

Lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in data science practices.
Provide mentorship and career development opportunities to team members.

Business Collaboration and Insights:

Work closely with business leaders to understand their challenges and objectives and contribute to the business requirements and functional design of Hypersonix products
Translate complex data findings into actionable business insights.
Contribute to the interaction with Hypersonix customers and business partners in activities such as pre-sales and joint development.
Present data-driven recommendations to executive teams.

Innovation and Research:

Keep abreast of the latest developments in data science and retail technologies.
Explore new tools and techniques to improve data analysis and modeling.
Drive innovation projects that can lead to business transformation.
Develop intellectual property such as patents and proprietary methods or processes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of key analytical capabilities of relevant competitors.

Technical and Data Infrastructure:

Ensure the robustness and scalability of data infrastructure.
Oversee the selection and implementation of data science tools and platforms.
Manage data collection, storage, and processing activities.
Work with DevOps teams to ensure proper integration of ML components into the overall system architecture

Requirements

15+ years of direct experience in enterprise software development involving machine learning mathematical modeling, optimization, generative AI, computer vision, business analytics, or other AI techniques.
10+ years of experience in retail industry in a data science/software role
5+ years of experience in NLP/Generative AI/ Computer vision/Forecasting/Pricing related problems
Advanced degree (Ph.D/Masters). in Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or equivalent.
Proven track record of leading data science teams and projects.
Strong Proficiency in programming languages – Python, Sql, distributed programming etc.
Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
Experience in industrial research, management or technical consulting a plus
MLOps – experience with multi customer, multi model product environment, optimization and Operations Research experience.
