About the Role
The IT Systems Engineer is part of Highspot’s Global IT organisation and plays a critical role in building, securing, and operating the systems and infrastructure that power our global workforce.
You’ll focus on networking, systems automation, and cloud administration—working across multiple technologies to ensure Highspot’s global IT environment is scalable, reliable, and secure.
This is a hands-on engineering role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and enjoys solving complex technical challenges across systems, cloud, and networks.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and integrate enterprise SaaS tools such as Jira, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Manage device environments using Jamf Pro and Intune for configuration, compliance, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage and support basic access to Microsoft Entra, and Okta.
  • Design, implement, and maintain global network infrastructure using Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, and Fortinet technologies.
  • Collaborate with Security to maintain firewall rules, VPN configurations, and Zero Trust-aligned network segmentation.
  • Automate system, identity, and workflow processes using Workato and Agentic (Genie) to improve IT efficiency and eliminate manual work.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, connectivity, and security across multiple offices and remote users.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, networks, and procedures.
  • Contribute to global IT infrastructure projects including office network upgrades, SaaS integrations, and automation initiatives.

Your Background

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT Systems Engineering and basic Network Administration.
  • Hands-on administration experience with:
  • Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, etc)
  • Jamf Pro and Intune for endpoint and device management
  • Microsoft Entra, Azure, and basic AWS access administration
  • Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Scripting and REST API-based automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Understanding of security principles and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience working directly for a U.S.-based company on a small IT team, taking ownership across multiple areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience autonomously driving key enhancements and changes to completion

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with identity management systems such as Okta or Azure AD.
  • Basic knowledge of workflow processes using Workato and Agentic (Genie) to improve IT efficiency and eliminate manual work.
  • Experience supporting multi-office, global environments.
  • Awareness of compliance standards such as SOC2 or ISO27001.
Base salary range: $98,000 - $133,000 CAD
Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.
The above represents total expected compensation for this role. Actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, and job qualifications.
