About the Role
As a Senior Principal Engineer, you will be the technical leader responsible for transforming our analytics platform into a state-of-the-art, scalable, performant, and secure system. You will drive the architecture and development of data processing, data pipelines, and dimensional data models. Your vision will help redefine our analytics platform, making it easier for our customers to gain insights and make data-driven decisions - faster. This role requires deep expertise in scalable distributed systems, a strong background in big data technologies, and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of a scalable, and secure analytics platform.
  • Architect and implement robust data pipelines and big data processing solutions.
  • Develop and optimize dimensional data models to support advanced analytics.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure we meet our user experience goals, ensuring ease of use and delivering performant state-of-the-art analytics to customers.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, data security, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually enhance our analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in building scalable distributed systems and data platforms.
  • Expertise in big data processing technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Flink).
  • Strong background in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Experience with dimensional data modeling and database design.
  • Deep understanding of data security best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for creating exceptional user experiences through innovative design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role within a high-growth technology company.
Base salary range: $222,609 - $333,913. Employees may also be eligible for bonuses, stock options, and other forms of compensation.
The above represents total expected compensation for this role. Actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, and job qualifications.
