About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Financial Reporting Accountant who excels at accounting excellence and hands-on execution. This role will collaborate closely with Accounting team members, and external business partners on strategic initiatives. You will lead and (or) support various cross functional projects within the Treasury and Equity space to enable growth and scalability. You will be responsible for daily and monthly financial accounting and reporting processes, and will assist in ensuring month-end and reporting requirements of Highspot are met. Additionally, this role will support a variety of routine and non-routine financial reporting accounting functions and responsibility over the associated month-end close process and balance sheet review and analysis.

What You’ll Do

  • Will lead and support large cross functional financial reporting projects
  • Maintain the treasury and intercompany funding functions, including the continued monitoring of company bank balances and performing intercompany funding and ad hoc wires.
  • Assist inputs and reporting/disclosure requirements for Equity and Stock Based Compensation, including quarterly option grants, 701 disclosures, 409A revaluations, and technical accounting research on non-standard equity grants and associated equity modifications.
  • Perform various GL month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses, with a full understanding of account activity and associated drivers, and the ability to dive into the details to further investigate variances.
  • Continued evaluation, identification, and implementation of process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
  • Maintain high value relationships with internal and external business partners by providing timely responses, financial insights, relevant reporting, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Support annual audit requests and inquiries from our external auditors
  • Assist in preparing internal and external financial reporting schedules

Your Background

  • 5+ years of post qualification experience in accounting roles, with a strong preference for at least 1 year working within the equity and/or treasury space
  • Combined public accounting (Big 4) and private industry at a publicly traded company
  • Chartered Accountant qualification is a requirement
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls
  • Understanding of technical equity accounting is a plus
  • Understanding of treasury and intercompany funding management is a plus
  • Ability to work in a varied and diverse workload while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with cross-functional non-accounting teams, both external and internal
  • Exceptional and timely communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Well versed in Excel and working knowledge of ERP accounting software (Netsuite is a plus)
  • Excellent organization and project management skills as this role will be project heavy
  • Flexibility to adapt to new approaches/thinking in a rapidly changing environment
  • Understanding of Highspot's industry and sales enablement solutions is a plus
