The Role
We are looking for a Scientific Manager Functional Characterization & Bioassays to strengthen our team of bioassay specialists. This role within the Functional Characterization and Bioassays (FCB) team is part of CMC Science and Technologies and develops bioassays to demonstrate the quality and characteristics of Genmab’s antibody products.
As Scientific Manager Functional Characterization & Bioassays you will be responsible for managing a team of up to five research associates dedicated to developing and validating (mostly) cell-based assays. Specifically, you will design and develop assays for selected clinical candidates in the preclinical and early clinical stage of development. In addition, you will participate in cross-functional product characterization studies to support regulatory filing.

With your solid bioassay knowledge and excellent communication skills, you represent the CMC bioassay expertise within our organization. The position will report to the Director, Functional Characterization and Bioassays lead.
Responsibilities
Managerial/supervisory responsibilities.
Subject matter expert on cell-based potency assays, such as viability assays, reporter gene assays and primary cell-based assays.
Scientific oversight of assay development and structure-function studies.
Act as an author/reviewer of necessary documentation.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Planning and prioritization of activities within sub team.
Keeping the team up to date with the latest developments in the field, such as novel technologies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
A PhD in a relevant life science field or MSc with several years of relevant experience.
Approximately two years of experience in a people management role, preferably in an industry setting.
Experience with developing and troubleshooting of cell-based assays (e.g. luminescence assays, flow cytometry, Incucyte). Experience with statistics (JMP) and developing assays according to aQbD principles would be advantageous.
Ability to run several projects parallel to each other and adjust priorities appropriately with the team.
Affinity for introducing automated solutions for assay development.
Excellent relational and communication skills in English. Previous experience of managing external collaborations is beneficial.
