The Role

Within the Cell Engineering and Sciences department, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Cell Line Development Intern (HBO) for 9 - 12 months, starting preferably in September! The experienced team in which you will work is responsible for the Cell Line Development of stable producing proteins derived from cell lines of all projects. You will support the team in testing and setting up new equipment in the platform process for high titer producing cell lines with selection of cell lines which give high quality of proteins for our GMP production for the clinic.


  • You will perform transfections and selections of clonal cell lines.
  • Test stability of cell lines and the quality of the proteins.
  • With the team you will work on creating, optimizing and develop new processes in the cell line development area.
  • You will administrate and document carefully all experiments.
  • With the team, you will grow cells, freeze cell banks and produce proteins.

Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:

  • You are an intern from HLO education or equivalent, connected to a Dutch School of Applied Sciences.
  • You love to work in a cell culture lab and have an interest in documentation.
  • You are a team player; you are flexible and love to work on the laboratory.
  • You have strong communication skills and a proactive approach to working in a team.
  • You are flexible and capable of running several projects parallel to each other and adjusting priorities appropriately together with the team.
  • You recognize the importance of working according to the agreed research-based Quality System, which includes adhering to procedures and detailed documentation of your work.
  • You have an interest in documentation.
