The Manager, Accounting is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting processes related to revenue recognition, inventory management, and financial accounting. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective control over revenue and inventory processes.

Specifically, the Manager, Accounting is expected to do following operations(Note that there will be opportunities to rotate to other roles in Finance for your carer developments in the future)

Oversee and manage critical financial accounting processes, including revenue recognition, AR management, and inventory management.
Support the global accounting teams for the cost accounting process.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, accurate financial reporting, and effective control over these key areas to support the organization's financial stability and profitability.
Support the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to effectively support and launch ERP enhancement projects
Continuously evaluate accounting systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

This position reports to the Associate Director, Accounting Operations in Tokyo, Japan and will be part of a large Global Finance team.

Qualifications

Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:

More than 5 years’ experience in accounting role is preferred
Knowledge of general accounting principles
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to innovate and propose/experiment creative ideas
Experience in ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle
Communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Native level Japanese fluency in reading, writing, & Verbal
Business level English
Requires valid working Visa or Permanent residency in Japan
