Service Sales Manager

Location: Toronto, San Diego, CA or Atlanta, GA
Department: Service
Reports To: Head of Service

Position Summary

The Service Sales Manager is responsible for driving aftermarket revenue growth across service offerings, including service coverage contracts, continuous improvement initiatives, preventive maintenance, spare parts, and other value-added services.

This role supports a diverse customer base, including channel partners, 3PL providers, system integrators, and end customers operating warehouse automation solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen with technical understanding of warehouse automation systems and a proven ability to build and expand long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Sales Execution

  • Own and drive service revenue targets, including maintenance agreements, preventive maintenance, full-care contracts, spare parts, upgrades, and retrofits.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the installed base.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for channel partners, 3PLs, integrators, and direct end users.
  • Proactively convert out-of-warranty customers into paid service agreements.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strategic relationships with customer operations, maintenance, and executive leadership teams.
  • Act as the commercial lead for service negotiations, renewals, and escalations.
  • Partner with Sales, Project Management, Finance, and Service Operations to ensure seamless transition from project handover to lifecycle support.

Quoting & Commercial Strategy

  • Support customer presentations and contract reviews.
  • Develop detailed service proposals and address technical and commercial inquiries.
  • Create competitive and profitable service offerings aligned with margin targets.
  • Manage pricing strategy for spare parts and labor services in coordination with Finance.
  • Support contract negotiations, ensuring clear scope definition and balanced risk management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales and Account Service Managers to align service scope, SLAs, and resource planning.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain on spare parts availability and stocking strategy.
  • Provide structured market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM updates.
  • Report on service revenue performance, renewal rates, and margin performance.
  • Track warranty transitions and proactively engage customers prior to expiration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in warehouse automation, robotics, material handling, or industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience selling service contracts or aftermarket solutions.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and automation lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with channel partners, 3PLs, and system integrators preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical system configurations and documentation.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and sales forecasting.
