As a Senior Software Engineer at Fountain, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and product managers to create user-centered web applications that empower organizations to improve employee retention.To succeed in this position, it is important to have a proven track record of working with rich enterprise products and possess strong problem solving skills, and a solid technical background in frontend/backend development, data structures, and architecture.The Fountain Engineering team is organized into product squads, each responsible for independently owning the product's health and market fit. The teams are the domain experts of their products, and are always looking to improve their operation.We are a rapidly growing team that operates with agility and speed. You will be expected to find creative solutions even when faced with uncertainty, and you will have the freedom to do so. In fact, you will operate with the autonomy typically found in early-stage product development, rather than in a larger organization.This role requires collaboration within a globally distributed organization, spanning different time zones, continents, and cultures (including Western and Northern Europe, USA, South Africa, Mexico, and more).What you’ll be doing:Design, develop, test, and maintain product features and enhancementsCollaborating closely with product and design teams to bring features to lifeReview and collaborate with other developers' workImplement RESTful API endpoints, build new functionality in our Express/Node.js backend codebase, build upon our MongoDB modelEnsure the quality, reliability, operations, and security of all our productsIdentifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and optimizing applications for maximum speed, scalability and ease of useStaying up-to-date with industry trends and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the user experienceWhat you should bring:5+ years of experience in full stack software engineering Proven experience in product-oriented software developmentProficiency in modern technologies, including but not limited to:React, TypeScript, MongoDB, Express (must have) TailwindCSS, MUI, Vite Ruby on Rails (nice to have)Testing Suite - Vitest/Jest, PlaywrightStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about user interactions and system architectureAbility to work independently and confidently, even in dynamic situations and with limited informationExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholdersNice to Have:Experience in B2B SaaS startup environments and remote international settings is strongly preferredFamiliarity with event-driven architectures, serverless architectures, high volume architectures, API strategies, MongoDB, AWS, micro-services, web security, and Agile methods is highly desirableExperience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teamsPast positions in startups and international contexts will be appreciated
