As a trading systems tooling senior engineer you’ll:

  • Develop tooling and systems to support our traders, quants, and HFT teams
  • Promote strong collaboration within a cross functional team, including design, product management, traders, quants and trade operations
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have particular impact across your team.
  • Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems, particularly at large scale, and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment.

Job requirements

  • A bachelors/masters degree in Computer Science.
  • You have at least 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Prior experience working in the financial industry
  • Experience with building support tools for trading desks.
  • Experience with building risk management applications and systems
  • Proficiency in Python and Go programming language.
  • Familiarity with modern technologies like AWS cloud, MySQL, Redis, React, and messaging tools like Kafka/Aeron
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset with detail-oriented approach to operations
  • Ability to move quickly and adapt to a fast moving environment
  • Comfort working in a highly agile, intensively iterative software development process.

Bonus Criteria

  • Experience with derivatives pricing, valuation, and risk. This includes knowledge of the different types of derivatives, as well as the mathematical models that are used to price and value them.
  • Experience with supporting algo trading strategies and automated trading systems
  • Experience working in an early stage product startups
  • Ability to build full stack applications using React for the GUI

Base pay for this role is expected to be between $180,000 and $280,000 USD. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as skillset, experience, and qualifications.
