As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Experience department, you will support the distributed cross-functional team that owns various parts of DataRobot’s platform and actively contribute to the development of new capabilities. This team leads the work on the new Experience, driving the excellence across the whole organization.

What does it take?

  • Manage individual projects and milestones with abundant communication of progress

  • Own projects roadmap, backlog and help driving the team work

  • Facilitate technical design of the new components and be a tiebreaker

  • Partner with other DataRobot teams to deliver a consistent platform

  • Do weekly 1x1s, coach, inspire and develop engineers on the team

  • Design and develop new features related to authentication, permissions, and collaboration to provide a secure and collaborative environment for our user

  • Design, measure, and improve the capacity and performance of the existing application

  • Seek, give, and receive constructive feedback to teammates through code and specification reviews

  • Create and maintain automated tests

  • Adapt to the fun, fast-paced environment our engineering team

Main Requirements

  • 2+ years of managing 5 people or more

  • 5+ years of development experience

  • 3+ years of Python experience

  • Experience with Flask, Mongo, Redis, Pytest

  • System/performance engineering (profiling process memory/cpu/io/network usage, system calls, flame graphs)

  • Understanding of software design for scalability, performance, and reliability

  • Excellent communication skills and can connect with both technical and non-technical audiences effectively

  • Desire and experience in the people leadership

  • Personal drive to get things finished

Bonus Point Requirements

  • Frontend (React) experience

  • Publicly reviewable contributions to exciting development projects

  • Experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
